What are the warning signs in an ad for a Maltipoo?

• Being told about a “pedigree”: the Maltipoo is a cross and has none.
• A guaranteed exact adult weight or a “teacup” size.
• Not being able to see the mother, not even on a video call.
• A figure far below those in the table. In July 2026 Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía) warned that a price far below the market is the first sign of an online pet scam.

The puppy is the small expense.
