Accessibility

We want anyone to be able to read this website and write to us, whatever they use to browse. We take the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as our reference. We have not been through an external audit, so we do not declare certified conformance: we say what we do and what we know is missing.

The criteria it is built on

• Keyboard. Links, buttons and menus are designed to be reached and activated with the keyboard, with a visible focus.
• Screen readers. The structure uses headings in sequence, lists and named regions; photographs carry alternative text and decorative ones are hidden.
• Contrast and size. Text colors were chosen aiming for the minimum contrast of level AA, and the text can be enlarged with the browser’s zoom.
• Mobile. Touch targets aim for a minimum of 44 pixels, and the main navigation sits at the bottom, within reach of the thumb.
• Motion. If your system asks to “reduce motion”, animations are switched off and videos do not start on their own.
• No forms that time out. Contact is by WhatsApp or email; the quiz has no time limit.

Limits we know of

• The ambient videos have no audio description; they do not convey information that is not also in the text.
• Health test documents are PDFs or images supplied by laboratories and veterinarians: a screen reader may not be able to read them. Their result is always written on the page, and we explain it to you if you ask.
• Some wide tables (municipalities, climate) scroll sideways on small screens.
• WhatsApp is a third-party app, with its own accessibility. If you cannot use it, write to us by email.
