Climate and life in Colombia

Does your city suit a Cockapoo?

It adapts to every climate zone. Because its energy is high, in the hot lowlands exercise happens early or after dark and the coat is kept short; in the cool highlands it is enough to dry it well after a bath or rain.

Frequently asked questions

What we are asked most about the Cockapoo.

How much does a Cockapoo cost in Colombia?

There are very few breeders. In October 2026 a breeder in Antioquia published between COP 3,500,000 and COP 5,000,000, and MercadoLibre showed ads from COP 8,500,000 to COP 10,500,000. With so few breeders, a waiting list is the norm. Casa Trufa tells you the figure for each litter on WhatsApp.

Do Cockapoos shed? Are they hypoallergenic?

They usually shed little, but this is a cross and the coat varies: some Cockapoos have a curly coat like a Poodle’s and others a wavier one that sheds a little more. Nobody can guarantee that one will be hypoallergenic. A Cockapoo needs frequent brushing and a groomer every six to eight weeks.

How big does a Cockapoo get?

It depends above all on the size of the Poodle parent. Ours weigh 6–11 kg (13–24 lb) and stand 30–40 cm (12–16 in) tall. It is a range, not a promise: in a cross the size of each puppy cannot be guaranteed, and the most useful reference is to meet both parents.

Cockapoo or Maltipoo?

The Cockapoo is bigger and has more energy: it needs real daily activity. The Maltipoo is smaller and more of a homebody. If you want a dog for long walks and lots of play, the Cockapoo; if you prefer a lap dog that also plays, the Maltipoo.
